The Altitudes Volume
£12.00
The Altitudes Volume explores our innate fascination and appreciation for great heights. It discovers the profound effects precipitous landscapes can have on the human psyche; how they can inspire fear, elation, creativity, and spirituality, and incite bold pursuits and artistic practice. It unearths what we may learn when we push the limits of our human ability and earthly confines, and it observes how feeling small in big places can challenge our perspective on the world and our place in it. It uncovers cultures and communities harboured by the rugged folds of mountainous terrain and shaped by high altitudes, and it reflects on how even in the most trying of environments it is possible to live harmoniously with nature.

We are continually evaluating our processes and looking to learn more in an effort to be kinder to our planet. We admit we aren’t perfect, but here’s a little insight into some of the ways we try to minimise our impact.
Our printing and production are done by Park Communications, London, who are committed to minimising their environmental impact, and won Environmental Printer of the Year Award at the PrintWeek Awards 2017, and were a finalist for the award in 2018. With them, Another Escape prints in vegetable-based inks on FSC and EU Eco-label paper, and all printing plates used in magazine’s production are recycled after use, and all waste is disposed of responsibly.
In contrast to much of the publishing industry, we attempt to calculate the true number of copies we will actually sell, and we print only that amount. We don’t want unread magazines going to waste; we want them in the hands of readers who will enjoy them. To do this, we work closely with regional distributors and operate in-house distribution solutions, working directly with stockists to reduce waste as much as possible. When working directly with stockists, we ensure that carbon-neutral couriers are used.
The longevity of our product is important to us. Another Escape is created to be timeless with in-depth content and high-quality production. It isn’t a throw-away magazine, it’s a publication to be kept, cherished and shared. When you are finally finished with your copy, we encourage you to share it with others or recycle it.
Another Escape is printed on Edixion Offset, FSC certified with EU Ecolabel, 300gsm / 120gsm. We use Gordita and Plantin typefaces.
